چکیده

A novel polyacrylonitrile (PAN)-based ultrafiltration (UF) hollow-fiber membrane was newly synthesized for nanofiltration (NF) applications. This semi-fully NF characterized using a variety of analysis techniques. The exhibited higher negative charge and hydrophilicity lower surface roughness compared to the pristine UF membrane. Experiments study performance fouling were simulated under laboratory conditions in cross-flow system in–out mode organic compounds, namely, humic acid sodium alginate. removal efficiencies alginate 65% 73%, respectively, 93% 95%, proposed flux decline by natural matter less case that To mitigate on membrane, hypochlorite (NaClO) used as chemical enhanced backwashing agent. At NaClO concentration 1 mg/L with time 30 s, an optimal recovery 92.1% initial permeability PAN-NF achieved degradation. results this will provide practical insight act technical guide NF-based plant engineers/operators.

Optimizing Hollow Fibre Nanofiltration for Organic Matter Rich Lake Water

Over the years, various technologies have been utilized for Natural Organic Matter (NOM) removal with varying degrees of success. Conventional treatment methods comprising of coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, or filtration are widely used to remove NOM. An alternative to these conventional methods is to use spiral wound membranes. These membranes tend to remove too much hardness whilst ...
